1. Who we are
DVLA Driver Medicals is operated by AMA Medical and Consulting Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”). We provide DVLA-standard D4 driver medical examinations. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you enquire about or book an appointment with us, why we collect it, and how we look after it.
2. Information we collect
When you book an appointment or contact us, we may collect:
- Your name, phone number and email address
- Appointment details — service type, doctor, location, date and time
- Health information you provide during your medical examination (special category data), handled by our examining doctor under professional confidentiality
- Payment details, processed securely by Stripe — we do not store your card details ourselves
- Call and messaging records if you book by phone or WhatsApp
3. How we use your information
- To schedule, confirm and manage your appointment
- To send you booking confirmations, payment links and appointment reminders by WhatsApp, email or SMS
- To process payment for your medical examination via Stripe
- To allow the examining doctor to carry out and record your medical assessment
- To respond to enquiries submitted through our contact form
- To meet our legal and regulatory obligations as a medical examination provider
4. WhatsApp messaging
If you book by phone or opt in to WhatsApp updates, we use the WhatsApp Business Platform (provided by Meta) to send you appointment and payment-related messages. Message delivery is subject to WhatsApp's own Business Messaging Policy. We only message you about your own booking — we do not use WhatsApp for marketing without your consent.
5. Sharing your information
We share personal data only with parties who need it to deliver your appointment:
- The doctor conducting your medical examination
- Stripe, for secure payment processing
- Meta / WhatsApp Business Platform, to deliver appointment messages
- The DVLA, where a medical outcome is required to be reported by law
We never sell your personal data to third parties.
6. Data retention
We retain booking and medical examination records for as long as required by applicable medical record-keeping and DVLA regulatory requirements, and no longer than necessary for the purposes described in this policy.
7. Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Ask us to correct inaccurate data
- Ask us to delete your data, subject to our legal record-keeping obligations
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Withdraw consent for WhatsApp/marketing messages at any time
